ABOUT US

Dr. Elizabeth Winter, ND, CPM

As a naturopathic doctor and a licensed midwife, Elizabeth strives to combine the principles and philosophy of naturopathic medicine with the midwifery model of care. Elizabeth believes that pregnancy, birth and postpartum are sacred and normal life transitions; not medical "conditions." She loves partnering with birthing people and families throughout this sacred transformation, whether it be for the first time or the fifth.

Elizabeth received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and her Masters in Midwifery from Bastyr University in Seattle, WA. As a student, she apprenticed both in the homebirth and birth center setting. As a licensed midwife, she has worked in birth centers, in group homebirth midwifery practices and as a solo midwife.

Elizabeth's children, Sawyer and Addison, were both born at home under the loving watch of midwives. She holds these births as transformational life experiences and knows first hand that how babies are born deeply matters.

As a naturopathic doctor, Elizabeth also works extensively with fertility, hormone balancing, thyroid disorders, autoimmune disorders, digestive complaints and more. She also offers well child and acute sickness visits for the pediatric population.

In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys trail running, gardening, making forts with her children, sipping coffee on her deck, and exploring Maine and beyond with her husband, John; son, Sawyer; daughter, Addison; and their dog, Zeke.
